I was thinking the other day how this year, in numerology, is a ‘four’ year, (2+0+2+0) which, from a Tarot point of view, is represented by The Emperor – the fourth card of the Major Arcana. Delving into the energy of this card I can see how it is quite fitting for this year but, to be honest, there would be many other cards I would have choose instead as a better representation of what 2020 has been like up to this point – Hermit, Hangman and Tower spring to mind! 😂
However, as my brain ticked on, as it does, I started to think laterally. A ‘four’ year is more than just the fourth card of the Major Arcana. And, in doing so, I realised there are a whole host of cards that represent the number 4. The Minor Arcana for example. The fours in each suit represent a time of meditation, rest, building foundations, searching for what makes us happy and discovering what is most important to us. Moving back to the Major Arcana, we have the cards that break down to a number 4. Thirteen, the card of change and transformation is perfect for this year.
And then we have the card that I feel is the most applicable for what many of us are going through in this weird and crazy year. 2020, is double Judgement and Judgement, being the 20th card of the Major Arcana, is the card of awakening, accountability, rebirth and truth.
Over the next few weeks, I want to look more closely at each of the cards mentioned above and how they relate to the world we currently find ourselves navigating. Starting with The Emperor and finishing with Judgement, I hope you can join me on this journey and maybe add your own input as to how the card featured resonates with you.
This following video popped up on my newsfeed today and, although I have seen it before, I thought it was worth sharing again. There is so much we can learn from our current situation, so many ways we can be ‘present’ for ourselves and each other.
See you soon when we look in the energy of The Emperor.
