Card imagery from The Light Seer’s Tarot by Chris-Anne
When I pulled this card for today, I just knew it was going to speak deeply to me. I hope it does for you as well.
The Moon, Major Arcana card number 18 is all about that which is hidden. As you know, trying to find your way in the dark is difficult at best but with a full moon shining on your path, some light is given. However, beyond the light, darkness prevails and much can be hidden in the shadows. How apt is that for what our world is currently going through.
The truth is, we don’t know where we this is leading, we don’t have any precedent for this virus. Some are expecting our leaders to ‘fix’ this. Well, unfortunately, this can’t be fixed as we don’t know how it broke. This virus is “The Moon”. In it’s shadow self the moon is about fear, anxiety, misconception and insecurity.
But what about that which falls under its light? The energy of this card asks us to trust our intuition, seek out the subconscious truths we may be hiding, face our fears and, ultimately, surrender to a new reality.
I am currently witnessing some of the worst uses of social media at present. Fear, lies, hatred and racism is rife and it is taking it’s toll on my (and I’m sure other’s) mental health. I am not only being forced to employ physical social distancing but, for my own sanity, I am engaging in social media distancing as well. I fully understand that behaviour is being driven by fear and uncertainty but, in my books, some of what I am witnessing is unnecessary, cruel and beyond disrespectful.
I am going to finish this post by quoting Chris-Anne’s, the creator of the Light Seer’s Tarot Deck, explanation for the Moon. It is beautiful and oh, so relevant during this difficult global time.
She writes – “When we’re faced with uncertainty and illusion, it can feel like we are drowning. Trust that you will be okay, even if you can’t seem to distinguish up from down right now. When you stop struggling to see that which you simply cannot see because it remains obscured behind shadows of the moonlight, you will experience a deep release that will allow you to float to the surface of your truth.
“The Moon card asks you to go within, find comfort in the darkness and to calmly listen to the whispers of your own intuition. There is divinity and magic here. When you fall into the Moon’s still waters, your inner wisdom will embrace you and push you toward the light. She will reinvigorate your creativity and resurrect your spark as you as you go beyond your own fears to find her.
“Dive into her healing embrace, breathe past insecurities, and let her dimly lit magic guide you home
“I am safe, and I reach new levels of unconscious knowing as I surrender to the will of the Universe.”
– Chris- Anne, the Light Seer’s Tarot.
Have a wonderful day everyone. Please be kind to each other and practice social distancing! xx
